Ed from Seventy Ten Travel’s 5 Personal Tips for Travelling with Kids

holiday

I spend a lot of time organising holidays for families of all ages and sizes, as well as being able to speak from experience as I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old, so here are a few holiday tips I can recommend.

1) Be smart where you book. Many family friendly hotels offer fantastic “kids stay free” options, although it’s important to check what’s included in the quoted price; does it include tax and service charge? Is the kids club included? It’s also worth checking the exact rooming specifications; most families prefer a separate room for the kids, so a suite will generally be the best option. Many hotels will also have a pre-ordering service to save you taking all you baby equipment with you.

2) For medical security when abroad, download a free trial on Babylon Health http://www.babylonhealth.com/ – an app that lets you have a phone or video appointment with a private GP, nurse or specialist within minutes.

3) Don’t rule out all-inclusive resorts, they are hugely accommodating and offer superb flexible options. The hospitality can be fantastic, and you’ll never go hungry or thirsty! Some resorts even have a VIP all-inclusive option with separate a-la carte restaurants. It really adds to the enjoyment of your holiday, not having to worry about the extras bill.

4) Don’t rule out early morning flights, you’ll skip all the traffic on the roads and (depending on your destination) arrive being able to make the most of the day. If driving to the airport, use the valet parking service which allows you to drive right up to the terminal.

5) If you use an agency such as Seventy Ten Travel, we will do all the above for you and more, as well as give you advice and recommendations on the best places to stay and it won’t cost any more.
