Spacious, elegant, peaceful and self-contained accommodation in the gardens of Meadow Lodge. This pretty room over-looks a charming fenced pool area and has a double bed and a single bed, a large shower room, sitting area with sofa and chairs, dining area with fridge and tea-making facilities and a separate drying room for wet-weather/fishing gear.
The fridge – with an honesty box on top is filled with a selection of refreshments and nibbles.
A kettle, Cafetiere and toaster, with fresh coffee, tea, bread, butter and homemade jams, are always available on your return at the end of the day.
We offer bed & breakfast with the option of dinner (2 or 3 courses) in the summer house or on the terrace surrounding the pool, ensuring a peaceful and private stay.
A flat screen TV / Freeview and WiFi is also provided.
Our gates provide secure parking.
For fishermen – a stone’s throw from the river Anton and also close to the river Test (2miles). We provide hanging / drying facilities to store and dry boots, wet weather clothes and fishing gear. We can also put your catch of the day in the fridge or freezer. Should you need the use of a tumble dryer then we would be delighted to help.
Excellent picnic hampers are available by arrangement.
Travelling on business? – the location is ideal for business in Andover (1 mile), Stockbridge (5 miles) and Winchester (9 miles). We are 1 mile south of the A303 and offer secure, off-street parking in our graveled gated drive way. Should you need printing facilities or the like, then we will endeavor to help you.
Eating in / Eating out – Should you wish to eat out, you can cross the ford (using the bridge) and into the village of Goodworth Clatford where you will find the Royal Oak and The Clatford Arms. A little further afield you can try The Peat & Spade or the excellent wine bars and restaurants of Stockbridge such as The Greyhound.
Visiting the area
We are fantastically located for those wishing to visit the area, being equidistant from the Cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, and within easy reach of Stonehenge. Just up the road is the Museum of Army flying at Middle Wallop and the Danebury Ring, the iron age fort and Houghton lodge Gardens. Further to the South you will find Mottisfont Abbey, the Hillier’s Arboretum and Romsey Abbey.
