They make it fun as well as educational, including motivational prizes and competitions. Please see website for more details.Philippa McNeil and Clare Macdonald are both trained teachers. They met at Durham University 27 years ago and have been friends ever since. They set up QWERTYkids as they have children with both dyspraxia and dysgraphia and visual processing difficulties. It was recommended that they learnt to use a laptop and touch type in lessons as well as exams. Both Clare and Philippa struggled to find local touch typing lessons and courses and knew that their kids would benefit from learning alongside other children, rather than being on their own at home with parents nagging them! They also have 2 other children who use a laptops at their schools for all homework and in some lessons. Therefore, they benefit hugely from being able to Touch Type alongside writing in lessons.
