Paul Hardy is doing a second talk on Afghanistan on Wednesday 2 March at 7pm-8pm at Stockbridge Town Hall, with food and drink afterwards. He’s doing it to raise money for two lawyers he worked with in Afghanistan who had to flee after the Taliban takeover and are now living in Kyrgyzstan. The tickets are £25 each, all of which will go towards the two lawyers and their families back in Afghanistan. We are hoping to fill the 80-seat theatre. The talk will cover the history of Afghanistan leading to the international invasion in 2001, why the ultimate objectives of the 20-year international mission failed, and the lessons that can be learnt. Paul will speak from his experience  of drafting Afghan legislation over two years, working with the Afghan government, regional and local leaders, and the UN.
